Here are some "computer" rules to make your searches fast, easy and accurate.
Case of letter and number fields. Any field that you have to enter some letters and numbers, such as the City, the Case of the information doesn't care. Sarasota, sarasota and SARASOTA mean exactly the same thing. The information is Case Insensitive. For your listings, do use the correct capitalization since what ever you enter will appear on your listing sheet.
Partial field searches. What this means is that you do not have to enter say the full name of the street. If you were look for listings on Maple, you need only enter an M, or an Ma, or an Map, or an Mapl, or the full name of Maple. If you enter M, you will receive listings whose street names begin with M. If you enter the Street name as Ma, you will receive all listings whose Street begins with Ma.
Use only numbers. For those fields that you will enter a number, such as the Price From and Price to simply enter numerals with NO punctuation. As an example you are looking for listings that a Price From of $500,000, you only enter 500000. DO NOT use dollar signs or commas.
Dates. There is only and one way only to enter a date, and that is in the format of MM/dd/YY. Do NOT enter February 6, 2006. Enter 2/6/06. Do NOT enter November 15, 2006. Enter 11/15/06.
Checkboxes. A check box are those little boxes that you can click such a Pool. If you want a listing that has a Pool, you click on it and a check mark appears. If you do not want a Pool, make sure that no check appears. To "uncheck" a check box simply click it.
Broad search to a Narrow search. If you have just selected a Type of listing such as Condo, you will obtain a list of ALL condos that are in Real Estate On The Internet's databases. This is the ultimate of a Broad search. If you are interested in only Condos in Naples, enter say the partial city name of Nap. You then receive all Condos that are in a City whose name begins with Nap and the number of listings will be smaller. You are now starting to Narrow your search. Add a price range, and your Search becomes even more Narrow, and even fewer listings will be presented.
